Framing Lumber: Decks and Patio Covers monitors the quality of all our treated framing lumber and by sourcing from multiple suppliers we can hand select our materials to provide you the highest quality products. When cutting and installing treated materials our craftsmen take the time to retreat all the exposed cut ends. Few contractors will take the time to apply this protective coating extending the life of your deck frame.

12” On Center Framing is Our Standard: 12” on center joist framing takes twenty five percent more lumber, and fasteners. This building technique not only provides you a more secure, commercial quality application, but decks built on 12” centers have less deflection, look better, and will last longer. Your typical contractor will frame at 16” on center.

All Concealed Deck Fasteners Are Not Equal.

Most contractors will use clips or screws they can buy off the shelf at a box store to secure your deck surface. Clips squeak and the wrong screws are subject to rot and an unsightly finished product.

Maze Nails: We spend three to four times more on fasteners than your typical contractor. Maze nails are the only nails we use on treated lumber. Maze nails are made in America, are double hot-dipped galvanized, and are approved for use on treated lumber providing a Lifetime Warranty. FastenMaster, LedgerLocs and a lot of Simpson Z-Max structural hardware are the right choice when it comes to building a deck that will last. Any lesser quality nail or hardware product will rot, and choosing the wrong fasteners has been the cause of many deck failures.
